6th Workshop of the Italian Astrobiology Society
Cosmos within us: life on Earth as a way to study its origin and distribution in the universe
29th - 31st October, 2018 - Real Museo Mineralogico - Napoli, Italy
Astrobiology and exobiology are at the beginning of a golden age. The results of the exploration missions in our solar system and beyond, with the discovery of thousands of exoplantes, the presence of the molecules of life in space bodies and their ability to form biological macromolecules at prebiotic conditions, and the dissemination of life on Earth in environments so extreme to be considered not compatible with life, demonstrate that the problem of the origin and distribution of life in the universe can be addressed by common multidisciplinary efforts.
The 6th WORKSHOP OF THE ITALIAN ASTROBIOLOGY SOCIETY will bring together scientists with widely different backgrounds with the aim of presenting fresh results obtained in the above mentioned fields and of discussing applications in astrophysics, chemistry, biology and biomedicine. The Workshop is organized by the Department of Biology of the University of Naples ‘Federico II’ and the Institute of Biosciences and BioResources of the National Research Council of Italy.
